During the 2007 summer holidays there was an Extreme Reading Competition.

The idea was to demonstrate the diverse and exceptional places that students can find to read books, magazines or newspapers and to show that reading is a useful and pleasurable activity wherever you might happen to be.

The winner was John Webb, pictured here on rocks on holiday in Cornwall, and the runner up was Dean Kilkelly, sharing his read with the fishes.
